Kevin and Nigel will be riding the mountains of North Vietnam in April 2010.
Cycling an average of 56 miles per day over a two week period this should prove to be a very challenging trip. The trip has been paid for by Kevin and Nigel but they have decided to take the opportunity to raise funds, and perhaps more importantly awareness for Alzheimer Cafe.
The first Cafe in the UK was set up in Farnborough and there are now 26 across the UK, three in Hampshire.
"Hosting time and space for persons with dementia and/or their family and friends, to be together in a safe, welcoming environment, in the company of other Carers, volunteers and health care professionals, for the purpose of emotional support, education and social interaction." Gemma M Jones 2000
Gemma Jones is one of the formost authorities on Alzheimers and gives fabulous talks which help everyone to understand what is going on which is the first step to dealing with the issues.
